Wir sind in Religion, Politik und Kultur zunehmend mit raffinierten Sprachmanipulationen und Wortkodierungen konfrontiert. Häufig wird die Aufforderung zu individueller Übernahme neuer Begriffe und neuer Sprechweisen mit moralisch hochstehenden Argumenten wie (Geschlechter-)Gerechtigkeit, Antidiskriminierung und Gleichbehandlung begründet. Der Streit um Sinn bzw. Unsinn von solcherart Sprachreformen polarisiert die Gesellschaft, spaltet Familien und Freundeskreise und hinterlässt oft einfach nur sprachlose Ratlosigkeit. Ein geschichtsloser, unreflektierter Umgang mit Sprache schafft einen gefährlichen Boden für neue Propaganda und zeitgeistaffinen ideologischen Irrationalismus.
